Small reflection

It's been an interesting week to say the least. Mark has been putting in 110% trying to get Patrick's room ready. Then the chaos broke out. We got 9+ inches of rain dumped on us in a 48 hour time frame. So then the priority went from getting Patrick's room ready to saving Patrick's room. The rain caused our pool to overflow and our backyard was so full of water that we probably could have swam in it. Where else is the water going to go but in the crawl space. So Mark spent most of Saturday and all day Sunday pumping out the crawl and trying to send the water away from the house. My parents were out of town when their house started taking on water. We went over there late on Saturday night trying to help my sister get the water to stop coming in. It was a mess, all this water.
On a good note, we were able to save the lower level and Patrick's room, we managed to stop the water from rolling in at my parent's house, and we didn't get it all that bad compared to the other houses in the neighborhood. So for that we are thankful.
Mark's been having some issues getting to work the past 3 days as most of the roads leading from here to Hammond are closed. So we haven't gotten much more work done in Patrick's room since Mark's been getting home late every night. We did managed to get Patrick's room painted and his bed moved in on Sunday, so he's been sleeping down there since then. Having a "rain" day on Monday helped him get used to his room and he moved some of his stuff down there. He has a dresser and tv and small desk. He didn't get carpet yet so he's using the big area rug (that doesn't fit just right, but will do for now) and he doesn't have a door yet. Hopefully we can fix that this weekend.
The boys and I got a "rain" day due to all the flood on Monday. It was nice to have all 3 of them home all day with nothing to do or no where we needed to be. We spent the whole morning in our pj's and hung out. Everyone got a chance to sit down and talk to me about things that they've been wanting to tell me. Adam's been wondering now that summer is over if we can start out movie nights again. So I'm hoping to get our first movie night in this weekend. It's just the little things that makes them so happy!!! Don't kid yourself, I love those movie nights as much as they do.
I guess that's all for now. I hope y'all faired the storm well. I'm praying for each one of you and for those who had worse flooding and storms than we did.
